Christmas Memories

Yesterday when mom and I were coming back from our shopping trip in Seattle, we were laughing about Christmas memories throughout the years.

The far most vivid, probably most funny is remembering when I believed in Santa. My bedroom is next to the chimney and where does Santa go down? Yes, that is correct, the chimney. One year, I don't remember how old, but I woke up and I was scared out of my mind, I thought that Santa was on the roof. For some reason I thought that he would come venture into the window, or break into my window. Needless to say, I went running into mom and dad's room for security. I told them that I heard the reindeer on the roof and Santa. They couldn't say no that isn't Santa because there is no Santa, they had to play along. I guess at that point I woke up Brett as well and nobody got sleep that night :)

It was probably the next year when Brett was telling me that there was no Santa. Of course being me, I didn't believe him. To prove himself, he was going to set up a video camera to record whether or not Santa was coming down the chimney and out of the fireplace. Smart kid? Like always, we put out the cookies and carrots and milk for Santa. Then we went to bed. To my little suprise, nothing was recorded... somebody "forgot" to hit record. Thanks to mom and dad I think I believed in Santa for one more year, or at least has my doubts.

Another favorite is with Brett. I don't remember why exactly neither one of us could sleep. I just remember we both were too excited, so we both went downstairs to watch tv to try and fall asleep. Instead of going back upstairs to our own beds, we decided to share the three person couch for both of us to sleep on. Yes, it was a tight squeeze to say the least. I remember smacking Brett's feet to get them out of my face and trying to get comfortable. It is not made for two people to sleep on. I don't remember if we did finally fall asleep downstairs or if we both went back up to our beds. But, along those lines I remember Brett always being really excited and coming in and waking me up in the morning to go get the stockings. Then we would quietly sneak upstairs to wake mom and dad up in bed- they were always thrilled to get up so early.

Anyways, if you have any memories please share! It is always fun to look back at funny Christmas memories or traditions.
