And the prize goes to...

To truly appreaciate this story, you may need to meet my boss (the owner). Saturday night was the Cafe Moro work party. I was trying to decide if I really wanted to go since I was supposed to go to a graduation party that night and I also promised Pat and also Keeley that I would go out with them as well. But early that morning, Evan came in and saw me at work when I was really bored. He told me that he would not speak to me until after Christmas if I didn't go to the work party. Needless to say, I ended up going down. It all started with a taco bar, provided by Keith and Jan (the owners). Keith was starting to get really excited since he kept making us pick numbers out of our NEW 24 oz ceramic cup, he made me repick I think at least 4 times since he thought I was trying to look at the numbers. We all knew where this was going, but he thought he was being really sneaky, but of course a White Elephant gift exchange, but Keith just wanted to call it "Steal and Greed." Anyways, I was the last one to pick for the first round, ended up with a hot chocolate set with two mugs. I was the sixth one to be able to exchange my gift, however, there was still one gift that remained unwrapped. Curiosity got the best of me... I decided to exchange mine for the unopened gift. All excited, I am unwrapping to find.... (drum roll PLEASE....) a construction measuring tape! As a hot item this was, nobody wanted to take it from me. That was pretty much the end of the Christmas work party.

This morning before work, I went to go buy a book that was recommended to me by a professor thinking that I would have time to read it during work. The good/bad news is that I didn't have time to read it during work. It was so busy that I didn't have time to sit until 10 minutes at the end of my shift. People are busy studying for finals. I must say that it feels good, knowing that I am done. But I am thrilled to start the book I bought The Kite Runner. It will be great being able to sit down and relax with a book, not worrying about having to write a prompt about it or having a quiz on it the next day in class. I also have another book a friend brought in during work for me called Peace Like a River. Either I will read that one next or work on Invisible Man which was also recommended by the same professor.
