Although this week was quite the week, I learned some valuable lessons. In the end, it turned out well, but I was exhausted.
Lesson #1-- Hard work DOES pay off
I was trying to keep this good piece of news quiet until I received the official word. Last week ended the first semester, so the 0.6 portion of my job (long-term sub) was either going to continue for the rest of the year or that specific teacher needed to come back. Luckily, the teacher went down and signed retirement papers. The 0.6 added to my contract would make me an official, full-time contracted teacher; the plan Brian had for me since the beginning of the year. There were a couple hoops we had to jump through with HR, but needless to say I received official word, and I am full-time contracted teacher!
Lesson #2-- There are ridiculous questions
Teachers always say there are no stupid questions, and I agree. However, there are ridiculous questions. Am I trying to sugar coat that? Yes, perhaps. When students ask the same question, in the same context, over, over, over, over... and over... and over again because they were not listening, then yes it becomes a ridiculous question. Ridiculous (aka stupid) question. Furthermore, it doesn't put the teacher in a good mood.
Actually, that is all I have for right now...
