The Inner Teacher

I have opened up this blog about 10 times tonight, in hope to actually write a blog. I have gotten distracted by Hamlet "stuff", phone calls, looking at information for the Junior research paper, and just everything else!
This week is going really well. I have been able to step up my involvement within the classroom. I am learning names, interacting with the students, being able to help answer questions during work time, lead small groups, take attendance, etc... I can feel the transition! Today I was in the hallway and a student (whom I do not have) was cussing. I gave him 'the teacher look,' his friend hit him on the side and said, "dude, you better watch it, she is a teacher." Guess that teacher look actually does work!
What else has happened? During class one student was texting while I was walking the room. I stood off to the side of him to see if he would notice me. His friend from across the table, kicked him under the table. The boy looked at me as I said, "you really think you were going to get away with texting during class?" He said, "I was texting about the book." In response, "yeah, I bet you were. Put it away and work on what you are supposed to be working on." It comes quite naturally...
I really need to get some sleep! Night all!
