This past weekend was a whirlwind of experiences. For those who were keeping caught up, I took the West-E test. It is required to take the West-E but more importantly you have to pass before student teaching. Thus, my test was English: Content Knowledge. I left Saturday morning at 6, driving my way down to Lewiston, arrived at Lewis Clark State College. There, I was talking to other peers who were showing up, most of them were taking the West-E for elementary. To say the least, I was a tad worried by that I was in the wrong spot. Needless to say, I finally figured that I was in the correct spot. After verifying that I actually am who I said I was, the testing began. The person next to me was taking the elementary test and they had pictures, half way through my test I wished I was her...
I left the test feeling stupid. It was the hardest test I have ever taken, hands down. My brain was fried. I know for a fact that I did answer a few questions correctly, however, the other questions are another category of hard. An example of a question is they gave a passage to read... a passage may I mind you was two sentences long. Then, you must correctly identify the author. I have never felt how I felt leaving that test. I thought I understood and knew the content of English quite well, this on the other hand, makes me question it definitely. The good news is talking to others who have taken it and have passed the test felt exactly the same way. Other peers who took their content knowledge this past weekend, they felt the same way I did about their contents.
On that same day, the keys on the laptop, some decided to stop working. Thank goodness for Brett, he fixed it!
On the flip side, I am back home right now. I flew in last night, getting out of Pullman feels fantastic. I am going to say goodbye to a friend that is leaving for law school soon, another friend is having a bachelorette party and just hanging out with the family. It is going to be great to relax. I will have pictures from these upcoming days when I get back into Pullman! Hope you all are enjoying the summer!
