Changing with the Season

What a week with so many different events happening! I last left you all with my anxiety about midterms (aka. the mock IEP meeting) so I guess I will start with that. Sunday was the first time my group and I had the chance to get together to make sure that we were all on the same page with the student, critically looking to see if any of our information would clash. On Monday I finished what I needed to do for the meeting, deciding to start on the other homework and papers which I needed to get started on. Tuesday rolls around... dun dun dun... I had the entire day to get ready (if I needed it) since the meeting wasn't until 4, however, I didn't feel as if I needed to prepare anymore. We arrived at the meeting room, there was another group scheduled for that time as well. Unforunately since I drove, I was paying meter time on campus, and the campus parking is hardcore. Another group member was doing the same thing. As we sat there, our professor told us to flip a coin to see who will go first, it was not our group. After 45 minutes of waiting for their group to finish, we finally got to go (not before running out to put more coins in the meter). Walking in, the professor asked how I was feeling and to be perfectly honest I was not even a tad nervous about it- I just knew that couldn't do any worse than Friday. I started the meeting, went through my stuff and passed the baton. In the end, the meeting probably took about 40 minutes or so, it went extremely smoothly. Matt told us that we did very well and he was impressed. He took our documents to use as artifacts for his next classes (I felt pretty special).
The next big project I had was my Sociology paper. It has many elements to it which also included desigining a personal ad for myself. In class we are discussing partner selection, marriage, and dating so you can now probably see why we were told to design a personal ad. At first thought, it might seem a little interesting to talk about these subjects especially as to how it relates to societial norms but after 15 pages of talking about it, the subject gets extremely mundane. Good news, I finished though!!!
I am not sure if I mentioned this before, but for one of my classes we are being the "teachers" for a Spokane Senior English class. Each week we have to respond to four students pieces of work. Although it doesn't seem that difficult, this week it took me approximately three hours to repond to four students. Luckily our professor was smarter about this, giving us lab time for an hour each week to work on it. We expressed this past week how difficult it was when the students didn't submit their work on time and we were required to respond within a smaller amount of time; especially since we have other classes, homework, extra activities, work... our lives don't revolve around waiting for the students to post.
This week it doesn't seem as if I have as much "big" projects which I am working on, but I will be pretty busy wrapping loose ends before leaving for break on Friday afternoon. At the beginning of the week I have a major critique due about a unit plan which we are critically looking at and how we would change it. Then just a couple odd end assignments-fun!!! I will be leaving Friday after about 3 pm to come home for Spring Break. There will be two girls that I am driving back to the westside with me. It will be nice to have company in the car and plus, that help with gas money is always a major plus.
As to the rest of the week... it was a gorgeous week in Pullman- the Palouse is starting to light up with sunshine and warmth. The mood around town is definitely changing for the better, people aren't so angry and mad all the time (including myself). I was able to grab a cup of coffee with my friend Kyle this week; it was great to see him since I haven't seen him since Christmas vacation... a couple classes were cancelled this week which gave me extra time to work on different things-- yay!! Yesterday my roommate and I (for next year) found out that we got the apartment that we wanted, major positive. I am extremely excited since it is right behind the rec. center so I don't need to drive there, I can just walk or run a few hundred yards to get there!!!
I had an interview last week on Saturday with the own of Pete's Bar and Grill for a new job. I have yet to hear anything, but I told him I would stop in Saturday again if I hadn't hear from him. So I will be stopping by today to see what he has to say. He seemed really interested, especially with the availability which I have, however, he just didn't know if there were any openings at the moment. If not, I am sure I would be able to get a new job for the summer and next semester there. I would either be bartending or waitressing. Either way, big tips is the key. Somebody told me that they can make rent with the tips they get bartending and/or waitressing. Mmmm sounds like a good deal to me!!!
As for the last part of the week... On Thursday a friend called me and was wondering what I was up to. Of course, as always, I was working on homework. I decided that I was done working on that, and to dye my hair again since the color was fading and she was offering... why not, right??

The three of us (the two girls who I am driving home) had a blast. We hung out over at Nicole's house and had a hair dying party pretty much. Heather was able to do, both, Nicole's and my hair. As you can see, I am looking extremely happy, perhaps because of the smell ;)

A couple weekends ago when I went home to visit, mom asked me if I would ever cut my hair short again. I replied with a firm NO! It has taken me quite a bit of time (since senior year) to grow out my hair, just too much work of battling with the hair to go down the drain. Yesterday I decided that I changed my mind about the entire thing. Out of an impulse move, I called the hair salon to see when the soonest time was available to get my hair chopped off... oh, only about 45 minutes. As I was driving, I was about ready to turn around and not do it.

This is the outcome. I just jumped out of the shower here, so it really isn't done exactly. But this is the idea. It isn't extremely short, but shorter than what I am used to. So far, everybody likes it. The hairdresser that did it was extremely happy and thought it was a really good cut for me, however, a hairdresser should say that no matter what. So when I went down to the Daily Grind to finish my paper, ran into a couple people that I knew and they liked it. YAY, somebody else that decided to give feedback. PHEW! So anyways, in the end I decided that I like it alot. It is a nice new look. Hope you all are doing well and things are going great!!!
