Out of the Rut

For some, you may know that I have been in a rut lately, fully blaming it entirely on the snow in Pullman. With the snow I felt extremely trapped and isolated, not being able to do much. Plus, I thrive in the sunshine- being able to go outside: run, walk, bike, swim, etc...

Getting back on track with the story. So this past Tuesday (about a week ago) I was thinking, it is a three day weekend, why don't I go home? Then I put the plan into action, called Brett to see if there was a chance I could grab a flight from out of Pullman to Seattle on Saturday afternoon (I had to work first) and fly back to Pullman on Tuesday (since I don't have class on Tuesday either). At first this plan was just going to be between Brett and I, thus, I would be suprising mom and dad. Needless to say my big mouth did most of the talking because mom was worried about me since I was sick with wheezing, coughing, nasal problems, etc... and I told her to stop worrying because if I wasn't better by the weekend when I came home I would go to the doctor. Suprising the parents just flew out the window right then and there, but the good news is that mom (like always) was so excited to hear I was coming home!

This trip home has been a blessing, I definitely needed it. Today was such a beautiful day with blue sky and the sun shining. I was able to go for a run this afternoon, I spent a little too long gone since mom was worried about me. But since the sun was shining on my back and it was warm, the blue sky to look at while I was running... it felt like I could run forever. I knew that I had to eventually get back home, so I did. But it put me in such a great mood and I know that I can go back to Pullman to endure a little bit of cold for a while longer.

These next few weeks with midterms coming up will be fun, that is for sure. I am thinking long nights that will not include sleeping much. The previous post talks about the mock IEP meeting, it is worth over half of our grade, with the class only worth 150 points for the entire semester, it is making me a little nervous.

Anyways, I am headed back to the Palouse tomorrow night. I should get in around 11:30 pm. Extremely late flight :) That is a story in itself, but perhaps for later...
