Jammin' to the Beat

As anybody should know, there is supposed to be at least a single day off during the week while training. However, I have been ignoring that advice. I planned on today being a day off to rest because grandma and grandpa were coming over and I was working. During the middle of the day I was feeling a little tired and exhausted, I thought that taking a tiny run would kick my endorphines into high gear.

For a moment, however, I had a tiny battle within... take a day off, just run, just continue resting, just a quick jog won't hurt... etc...

Yes, I took a quick little jot around the block. I know I should have rested my legs at least once this week, but oh well. It was only two miles, I figured it wouldn't hurt them. The sad part to the entire story is that it usually takes me at least a mile to get into my groove (which is why you warm-up before a race), so by the time I was into my groove I was already back home. I was jammin' to some good tunes on the iPod. As Bob Marley would say, there "ain't no rules, ain't no vow, we can do it anyhow... " Good news, it loosened up my legs from the hard strength training from the day before.

Short 2-2.5 mile run playlist: Jammin'
1. Jammin' by Bob Marley
2. American Boy by Estelle
3. Yeah! by Usher
4. Drive by Incubus
5. I'm a Cowboy by Bon Jovi
