The only reason why I was thinking about the slap on the hands was because as I was correcting high school papers, I would like to give the students a high five. Although they have quite a long ways to go with these papers, the ideas/content that they have is good; they just have to develop their papers more. Yes, down below are some examples of papers that are mostly graded, they do have grades on them; however, I still have to write some comments (more comments).

These papers are better than the last set I read. The students went to a place for "two hours." Then, they had to describe their experience. One of the biggest problems with these papers is that they are not showing, they are telling.
One of the main points to have students write these is so they understand the uses of metaphors, similes, the use of personification, alliteration, and allusion. Unfortunately, I don't think that the cooperating teacher did an adequate job of teaching this unit. A student asked me on Friday if Mr. Nice was grading their papers, I said no. And then asked whether if we (Jennie and I) are easier than Mr. Nice. I said, probably harder, he just made a face- oh well!!
This past weekend I went to visit a friend whom I haven't seen for, oh gosh, maybe two years. There was a lot of reminiscing. On that note, on each post for the next five times, I will post the top three memories of a single year, starting with freshman!!
1) Moving into Scott-Coman residental hall during the August heat. Little did I know what would be in-store at WSU for me!
2) Becoming an Resident Advisor, meaning I met so many of my friends that made the connections to make my great friends that I have now!
3) The flour fight that some of us had. We thought it was a good idea to vacuum up the flour, but instead we broke it.
More to come...
