This news was not broadcasted so most of you do not know, I had to re-take the West-E (aka Praxis and/or teaching certification) test. I missed it by, 5 points which in turn was most likely a single question. Needless to say, I had to re-take the test and that was at 7:30 yesterday morning in Spokane. The last time I took the test I felt horrible about it, I walked out feeling like I failed. Most of it was because I psyched myself out too much and applied too much pressure on myself before the test took place. Even some of my regulars that I see down here at the coffeeshop mentioned something to me about it. Yesterday was a different story. Danielle and I went up to Spokane on Friday night and stayed with a friend of hers. First of all, Saturday morning we didn't have to wake up at the crack of morning, when the rooster is crowing to get going. Also, I was more relaxed and felt like I knew my material going into the test.
With 10 minutes left of the test, I only had 2 questions left to answer which meant I was going to be able to look over some of my other questionable answers. After, Danielle and I found out that we had the same test so with some of the questions we remembered, we were able to go through and discuss. She feels neutral and I feel like I passed it. This time around, if I didn't pass then I think I will cry or be crushed because it felt quite sure that I passed.
The semester is going well, I did not think I was going to be this busy but my schedule is quite full. Example: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday I leave at around 9 and don't get home before 5 or 6, usually after around 7. That meaning, I go straight through without a huge break in the middle. But having this type of schedule keeps me out of trouble!
I finally got placed for my teaching practicum, I am placed at the Pullman High School with a teacher who teaches AP senior literature!! PERFECT!! I could not have asked for anything more perfect, that is exactly what I wanted!! I will definitely be keeping you all updated about this, but I won't be in the classroom this week, I most likely will start next week.
