My Hallelujuah Song

Yesterday was probably one of the best days since summer has started in Pullman. Okay, I lie this past week has been pretty fantastic. The weather truly helps with my mood or perhaps because I started to change my outlook at being in Pullman at the moment. I realized since I am here to make the best of my time here. That is just a side note, but the main idea about this post is stolen from a friend of mine who is taking a Dayle Carnegie class. I first heard of this guy in my Business and Marketing III class in high school. Mr. Walden definitely was able to instill ideas of Dayle to bring with us into the future and many of the tips and ideas I still remember and presently use. One example is to remember 21 rules, Walden had us draw pictures to go with the rule, picture it and memorize it. I remember worried about not remembering these since we had only a couple days to memorize these, however, I still remember the rules to this day and can imagine the pictures that were around the class. One activity which my friend was supposed to perform was picturing himself 6 months from now the happiest you have been- what would this look like an entail. I read his response which got me thinking... this is what I came up with...

Look at me, I an't believe I actually made it here and I am starting to feel like I am where I am supposed to belong. I so extremely happy, perhaps one of the happiest times in my life. It is December 19, 2008 and I just have moved back to the westside after graduating from Washington State University. It is close to Christmas, like always I am so glad to be surrounded by friends and family. I am starting to prepare for student teaching which will begin in January, my mentor just gave me binders full of unit plans, novels to go through, folders about the students, his/her classroom management, and so much to go through before I even step into the classroom. This is what I have been preparing for, it has been a long road, however, I have finally made it and it is going to pay off.

It is really hard to write about what is going to be happening in 6 months since I will be literally in a transition point in my life- moving back home for at least another 6 months, through student teaching. After student teaching the search for a teaching job will begin, thus, that will determine many different decisions in my life. But while I am moving back home I plan on keeping up with running, biking, and swimming. To do this I plan on finding a part-time job to cover some expenses. I know that student teaching will consume most of my energy and time (my life), but I plan on balancing it out to make sure I am not stressed, or too stressed.

This all seems extremely vague because I might still be in Pullman on December 19th since the 19th is the last day of finals. It is a little odd how I graduate before finals, but it is true. Anyways that is just the vague idea surrounding it all!
