Officially the first two days of classes are complete. I must say that these past two days have been different from the past first days of school. Usually after the professors hand out the syllabus and once I have finally have in-hand all of them, I have already started to pull out my hair. However, this semester seems to be different but yet, I am taking more credits I have yet to take and more things on my plate. Maybe because I know that I will put 110% into all that I am doing and that is all I can ask myself to do. I am sure many of you are on the edge of your seat just curious to know how the classes are...
Each of the classes I am taking seem to be reat. There is nothing to really report on yet, it is the first day. I still have one class which we have yet to meet for which is the advanced praticum however, that only meets once a week since as preservice teachers will be in the classroom instead.
One of my classes we will be reading 13 novels as a class itself, then reading two on our own. That means I will be finishing one novel a week. I am through the first one. Luckily this class only meets once a week!
In my teaching courses I have quite a few of the same people from my last block of classes in these as well. As a whole, my peers and I are loud since we know each other pretty well and like to goof around. The good news is that we do get our stuff done and understand it well. Unfortuantely for the other new peers that have added on to the classes that we seem to be taking over, they are a little shy right now, not to worry, we will get them to be just as loud as we are!
For those of you that follow basketball, I have Daven Harmeling in two of my classes. As he was talking to one of the professors, letting Matt know that he wouldn't be in class on Wednesday and Friday, wondering what he can do to make up the classes. As Pat and I were walking by, kind of listening in on the conversation we heard Matt ask with a lot of hope in his voice, "can you get me tickets?!" As Pat and I walked out the door we started laughing. I guess we were walking slowly because Daven caught up with us and we asked him what he told Matt. Daven just laughed and said, well he just really wants tickets.
Nothing else really exciting happened during any of my classes. I saw a couple professors from last semester. Both, Sean and Guy, are excited to start back up again. Guy who was my technology teacher said he is trying to figure out how to use a Wii gaming system educationally. I told him I would have to keep checking in to see if he was able to get one, especially since it would be on the big screen projector in the class.
It is still snowing here in Pullman. There is a storm warning here, Pullman is supposed to get 6-8 inches by tonight. But who knows if the weatherman will be correct or not. As of right now, it isn't snowing very hard, barely at all. The goods news of this all, I haven't fallen yet... the key word is yet. Yesterday when I was eating lunch one of my roommates opened the door and just said, "I QUIT!" Apparently she fell four times yesterday. Apparently she meant she was going to quit walking.
In parallel of last semester, I went to the rec. center when it opened. I took a cycling class this morning, it was fun! I enjoyed how it started my morning. I did learn, however, that Megan (roommate) has class at 9 like I do, and we both wanted to take a shower at 7:30. I let her take one. I decided that I could take a quick, quick one since she takes long showers and finish showering later. Oh the glories of roommates.
