Ice Freeze

The snow has stopped for now, but in the process of the snow melting it seems as if ice has taken over! I was leaving a voicemail for a friend on his birthday, I took a single wrong step and the phone flew out of my hands along with my keys, good news, my backpack was a cushion for my fall. Chris called me back and asked what the noise was on the phone, I explained about the ice situation here in Pullman. It seems as if each professor comments on the ice, snow, weather, more specifically how cold it is, explaining that it hasn't been this cold in Pullman in quite a while. My classes that I have before 9 am, the professors are quite forgiving when it comes to students walking in late. It is quite difficult to walk around campus and Pullman for that matter. The ice on the ground is quite thick, personally I don't think that the city itself is even doing an adequate job of keeping it safe for anybody in Pullman. I have only fallen a couple times, but needless to say for others it has been more than just a couple. Quite a few times when I walk home with Pat, I clutch onto his jacket so that I won't fall. Luckily at one point I decided that I could walk on my own, he fell instead and he didn't take me down with him. That picture right above is of the steps that go down to the apartment, it is quite slick. I tend to notice myself clutching onto the railing to make sure I don't slide down the stairs.
Swimming is going well, so far! On Wednesday we worked on flip turns for a while and breathing techniques/ form. The first flip turn was smooth and pretty much perfect. But after that single one, I could not get it a second time. We both think that I am thinking too much about what I need to do and just not doing it. As for breathing, I am doing better. Once I perfect the form, breathing techinques will be easier. When I was little I remember getting swimmers ear so I think I am a little afraid of getting it again. Keeley (my friend who is coaching me) pushed my head down as to where it should be, I understand of where my head should be, however, it scares me with my ears. We are going again today. On Wednesday we did sets of 800, two of them with my correct breathing and position. We will see if I can flip turn today!!
I just want to say that I am very glad that I have a dad that taught me about changing tires, anti-freeze, stuff (even if is general and not too much) about cars. Some friends are worried about their cars and don't know what to check. I told them what I do with the car and I can even change a tire. People are impressed, don't know why.
I have recently noticed that my tastes have been changing, especially from when I was small. There are a couple things I really enjoy now:
1. Grapefruit
2. Green Peppers
3. Onions
I am sure I could list more, but those are a couple that might suprise some people!
