Jingling Along!

"Love came down at Christmas; Love all lovely, love divine; Love was born at Christmas, stars and angels gave the sign."
-Christina Rossetti

I am not going to lie, the traffic today really tested my patience. For the most part I like to think I have quite a bit of patience but towards the end of the day, my patience was wearing thin...
When I left the house this morning around 7:15 am, to first fuel up the car then hit the road (not literally) to work, there was already quite a few cars already out and about. Luckily for myself, however, it was an easy drive to work, it only took about 20 minutes or so.

While I was helping a customer one of the girls I work with, Kelly, started to jump up and down with excitement. Her face burst with joy. At the moment I wasn't so sure, I continued on, doing my own thing. Once both of our customer's left, I asked what was going on. Well the man she was helping had a "beard as white as snow" and a "belly like a bowl full of jelly," but most importantly also had a Santa hat to complete the outfit. She was thrilled beyond belief because he looked just like Santa! Oh the little things in life!

The good news: I was able to leave work about 45 minutes early... bad news? It all started when I looked out the windows at work to see that 38th street was backed up, the first obstacle was getting out of the parking lot at work. Once I did that I still had the battle to get back to Puyallup. I decided to take a different exit than what I normally did. I was supposed to meet the parents, brother, my aunt, grandma, and grandpa by the mall for lunch/dinner. I called the fam. to inform them I would meet everybody soon, that I was leaving work. Just leaving work and the parking lot, getting to the freeway in itself was "fun," that took about 15 minutes, what normally takes maybe 5 minutes. At first I was in the holiday spirit, letting people in... so on and so forth. Drivers were trying to get places quicker and faster which makes the rest of the population frustrated and angry. On the freeway, semi trucks were not paying attentiona and the rain was not helping the situation. In the mall parking lot, I was at a stand still for about 10 minutes, for no reason. I finally parked quite far away and just walked to the restaurant. Let's see the estimate time when I arrived was 2:20 pm. YIKES!

Great lunch/dinner with fabulous company. I was thankful that my grandparents and aunt waited for me to get off of work to go out to dinner since they still had to go back across the pass. But, it was fun and a great time as always to celebrate Christmas!

Tonight while I was writing this blog, all of a sudden dad announces that we have gotten our annual Christmas bee. This is mom's story, "every year for about 20 years that we have lived in this house we have gotten a bee a couple days before Christmas or Christmas eve. Where does it come from? No idea!" Thank you for that story mama!

Getting back to the quote on top of the blog... While I was steaming in the backed up traffic, I was thinkin of how people loose what is truly important during this season, as I was during that moment. Instead of getting excited to be with family and loved one's, I was getting upset because people were in my way. I am not truly sure at what point in translation where things turned as to where people forgot what was truly important during this season. AND now, I am stepping off of my soap box.

On a great note a pre-Christmas gift for my friend Chris, he recieved his LSAT scores back and he did really well, I am pretty sure he will be able to get into the top five schools! He said that he could have done better. I replied with saying that if I were in his shoes I would say the same exact thing, but his score was in the 99 percentile.

What else? Oh yeah, I can't believe I almost forgot to brag. The men's basketball team is still undefeated!

Ho, Ho, Ho!!!
